Lois C. Greisman is the Associate Director, Division of Marketing Practices, which is part of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. She also serves as the FTC’s Elder Justice Coordinator, which works with the Elder Justice Coordinating Council, chaired by HHS and tasked with protecting older adults against financial exploitation, among other issues.

She will discuss scams in the marketplace that target or disproportionately affect older adults, such as schemes targeting Medicare recipients, robocalls touting special government financial programs for seniors, and advertising claims for brain training programs to combat cognitive impairment associated with aging. She also will talk about dollar losses incurred by older adults in connection with different scams. She will review and distribute consumer educational materials designed for older adults.
